Cinderella’s Dream

You may have noticed that the blog is a little later than usual this week as Jamie and Ben have just returned from Hong Kong where they sculpted a three ton fairytale carriage to promote the Metro City Plaza shopping centre. In order to create such a large and intricate structure, they spent 30 hours in a freezer at -10 degrees using local ice.

Cinderella’s Dream

The result is what can only be described as Cinderella’s dream and members of the public had a fantastic time having their photos taken while sitting inside. Here you can see Jamie and Ben inside the carriage with event organisers Alice and Mandy from R2.

As previously mentioned, the team have also been busy carving a replica of the Olympic stadium for its constructors and this week saw the grand unveiling along with a supplementary wheelbarrow and cement mixer which were used to house oysters and prawns. This definitely added some classic builder chic to the ceremony!

In other news, the Hamiltons have been honoured to welcome the wonderful photographers Laurence Haskell and Scott Grummett to the studio who have been working on projects for Budweiser and Flora respectively, while plans have been hatched to sculpt a polar bear live on Broad Street, Reading, on Saturday 3rd December from 9am. If you happen to be listening to Heart FM on the very same day, you will be able to enter a competition which involves guessing when a shoe frozen in ice at the Eden Shopping Centre, High Wycombe, will eventually have melted enough to drop out of the block. Of course the Hamiltons are behind this too, so don’t forget to tune in and you may just win a special prize…
