The team were recently at the Milton Keynes Snow Dome filming idents for Harry’s Arctic Heroes. The show follows four severely-injured war veterans as they attempt an unsupported trek to the North Pole.
Filming idents with unusual requests
For this particular shoot, Jamie was asked to grow his beard and consent to be covered in ‘snow’ in order to create a more weathered effect. The snow dome is open to the public during the day, so filming could only take place at night. This meant the team were busy working to get their sculptures ready in the wee hours, while Jamie smothered himself in toothpaste and Vaseline to make sure the fake snow would stay in place.
As you can see, the final result is impressive as Jamie is captured carving out the features of Captain Guy Disney, but it doesn’t take away from the oddity that is getting wired up to a chainsaw at 4am while feeling like a sticky mess. It’s a hard life!
