When Hollywood asks for snow…

Exciting things are afoot for the Hamiltons today as they have been drafted into Pinewood Studios to create authentic snowfall for Roth Films and Universal Pictures’ latest venture, Snow White and the Huntsman. Here you can see Duncan collecting the white stuff for two insert shots to be captured with a macro lens – one of which will see blood falling onto snow and the other which will see snow falling onto a road. Unfortunately you’ll have to wait until June next year to see the team’s latest foray onto the silver screen, but by all accounts, it’ll definitely be worth it.

When Hollywood asks for snow…

Continuing with the Japanese theme from last week, a top London hotel has asked the Hamiltons to add something special to their restaurant by creating 30 x 15cm ice slabs for their individual portions of sushi. The slabs will sit on top of lit perspex trays and are sure to enhance the opulence of these already very artistic, delicate dishes.

If you were in Derby or Leyton last week, you may have seen the team entertaining the public with the live street sculpting of various wintery icons including penguins, polar bears and Christmas trees. As you can see, the animals were a firm favourite amongst the children who were endearingly fascinated by the whole process. This week, on Friday 16th December at 7pm, you’ll be able to see Duncan carving a snowflake and a hanging ice mobile on The One Show with the truly unique Phil Tufnell, so please don’t forget to tune in!

Merry Christmas and see you in the New Year!
