Glass Half Full

If you were lucky enough to be at the launch of 1 Kingsway in London last week you would have had the privilege of seeing the creations of international glass sculptor, Joseph Harrington. These abstract figures were formed from plaster casts of the Hamiltons’ ice which thankfully set before the melting process began.

This allowed the resulting gaps to be filled with molten glass and thus we have these beautiful ice imitation sculptures. They do say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…

Back in the studio, the team have been drawing sketches in preparation for street sculpting penguins outside John Lewis in Norwich this coming Saturday, 12th November. If you’re around the area during shopping hours do pop along and see how the ice is carving up!

This week’s activities have so far consisted of a bikini being frozen in a block of ice as part of an advertisement for Fort Lauderdale and the discovery of an excellent video of our very own Jamie carving the Heineken Cup with a chainsaw before it gets blown to smithereens in slow motion. What’s not to love? Make sure you check it out below.
