masterclass at our studio

What are ice sculpting classes?

For many years we have been proud to host sculpting classes for the public at our London-based workshop. During the pandemic, restrictions meant we had to postpone these classes, but now that things are getting back to normal, we are thrilled to be able to host our coveted sculpting masterclass once more.

So, to celebrate the return of one of the best bits of our job, we thought we’d answer some questions about what is involved in an ice sculpting class, who can join and more.

What is involved in an ice sculpting class?

Our ice sculpting classes aim to help you learn about the sculpting process in more depth and create something you can be proud of, but above all, we want you to have fun!

When you walk in, you will find an apron, gloves, safety goggles and freshly sharpened tools laid out, ready for you. Our instructors will then explain what you will be doing, a bit about what we do, and then give a sculpting demonstration for everyone to watch.

After a short safety talk, you will be given ten minutes to design your ice sculpture-but don’t worry, our team will be on hand to help with ideas! After this time, everyone will have fifty minutes to sculpt their ice with the help of the instructors who will be walking around assisting.

We will give you a heads up when we start to reach the end so you can add the finer details to your sculpture to really bring it to life. As soon as the countdown finishes, it’s chisels down, and the group will gather around to see what has been created.

We love seeing your unique icy masterpieces, and in the past, prizes have been given out for the best technical sculpture, the most creative sculpture and everyone’s favourite, the most amusing sculpture!

The class should last around 90 minutes from start to finish

Who can do an ice sculpting class?

Absolutely anyone can participate in our ice sculpting classes; it really is fun for people of all ages! We usually advise anyone joining the class to be at least 14 years old and accompanied by a parent or guardian. We always endeavour to make our workshops as safe as possible, but it is important to note that we work with sharp tools, so caution is advised.

Why should you do an ice sculpting class?

Ice sculpting is great for any occasion, whether it’s for a party, a family fun day out or even as a work team-building exercise. It doesn’t matter whether you have had experience with ice or sculptures before; our ice sculpting class is a great way to learn a new skill and have some fun whilst doing it.

If you are looking to create an unforgettable experience for your friends, family or colleagues, we would highly recommend booking in with us today. We can host up to 50 people in our workshop, with one tutor for every 15 people attending.
