How long do they last?
The beauty of any ice sculpture is that they don’t last forever; their transient nature makes them a stunning addition to any event. Generally, vodka luges can last up to 8 hours once situated, but it is important to note that the bigger the sculpture, the longer it will last.
The production and transportation process will ensure that the ice luge is at its best for the event, and pouring chilled drinks through it will also help keep it from melting prematurely. Placing the luge in the coldest area of the event and setting it up at the last possible minute will allow it to last as long as possible.
Are vodka luges sanitary?
The pandemic has made us all more aware of hygienic practices, and as we emerge from a year indoors, we want to ensure we are still as safe as possible. As your vodka or chosen drink passes through the luge, a thin layer of the ice will travel down too, which helps to make the sculpture self-cleaning. Whilst many people choose to deposit the drink directly into their mouth at the end of the luge, cups can also be used to ensure the sculpture remains hygienic and safe to use.
Is the luge only used for vodka?
Vodka is often the drink of choice when using an ice luge, as it does not freeze, and you will get a perfectly chilled shot or drink to add to your mixer. That being said, any cold liquid can be used on the luge, such as gin, rum, tequila or even soft drinks. Some drinks will pour better down the luge, but it’s entirely up to you!
