New Year New Designs

The Hamiltons are back in the studio and one of the first tasks of the year was to sculpt the famous Evian mountain peaks into a wall of ice for their latest campaign. Designs like this one are at first etched into the ice with a marking template before the big tools come in to finish the job. The mountains were then carved down into an intricate London skyline which very elegantly shows the versatility and almost unique transmogrifying property of ice as a sculpting material.

Meanwhile, Jamie had a little jaunt to Bristol Zoo Gardens where he live sculpted the gorillas in front of a packed crowd. Here you can see the interesting effects of one which has managed to retain its shape and character even after 24 hours of melting. The team were also drafted in to create a scaled down replica of Bonhams’ redeveloped building from the architectural plans.

You may be surprised to learn that the Hamiltons’ own studio is often the place where clients choose to shoot their sculptures. However, it can be used as a standalone hire for any film or photographic project, regardless of whether ice is involved or not. If you would like more information, please click here.

Hopefully you will have had a chance to see Duncan on The One Show with Phil Tufnell over the Christmas period. However, if you missed out, you’ll be pleased to know that you can watch his segment below. Happy New Year!
