Sculpting for London Fashion Week

We were at London Fashion Week last month helping to transform an underground space behind a record shop into an ice kingdom fit for a queen.

Sculpting for London Fashion Week

This was the brainchild of shoe-designer, Sophia Webster, whose AW17 collection, I Scream for Ice Queens, required us to sculpt lots of ice plinths on which to display her eclectic mix of footwear.

Sophia told Marie Claire magazine that this collection was inspired by her daughter’s love of Disney’s Frozen and also the Harbin International Snow and Ice Sculpture Festival in China, which builds a magical  life-sized ice sculpture village every single year.

Sophia said, ‘…the main square there is called Sophia square – so it’s destined to be! I wanted to recreate Harbin in London.’

Highlights of the show included sandals with crystal shards for ankle straps, velvet numbers with in-built tiaras and thigh-high, crystal-peppered gladiator boots with Perspex heels.
